It's a gigantic tonal mess with awful slapstick and comic relief, but this one ultimately has some of the best dramatic moments and songs in the entire Disney pantheon. The stage adaptation is better but kudos to Disney for really giving it ...It's not for everyone but it's one of my personal favorite experiences.
